What are your small wins this week?

Can you recall the last time you celebrated your success?
So often, we only give ourselves a pat on our backs or celebrate our successes when we achieve HUGE accomplishments.
Most days, or even weeks, you might feel like you are accomplishing nothing and that you are a long way from your goals. These goals could be academic or personal goals (e.g. wanting to become a better leader / communicator, wanting to start sleeping earlier, wanting to become a better son / daughter / sibling, wanting to eat healthier).
But, if you are too focused on the big goals, you often feel lousy about yourself. You might feel like you will never reach that goal and that it is just too far away from you.
If this resonates with you, try this:
At the end of each week, reflect on your small wins.
Here is an example:
My goal is to become more confident in public speaking.
My small win for this week:
I initiated a conversation with my teacher that was something I would never have dared to before.
OR
I read an article on public speaking and I want to try some of the strategies in my next presentation.
Another example:
My goal is to be kinder to myself and take care of my mental well-being.
My small win for this week:
I did not get mad at myself for getting a B3 for English. Instead, I analysed my errors and I will remember not to make the same mistakes again!
Tips on getting started:
Write down your goals / small wins in a journal or type it somewhere on your phone.
If you know that you will never have the self-discipline to sustain this, here are two options: 1) Set a calendar timer on your phone to do this at the end of each week. It takes literally less than TWO minutes of your life. 2) Find an accountability partner for this! Get a good friend/sibling/parent/anyone you feel comfortable with, to share your small wins with each week.
Have a restful weekend & think about the little accomplishments you have made this week! (:
